structure structure (solids and liquids) D 2000 -009Crystal Structure of CsHg2Cl5. -Single crystals of the title compound suitable for X-ray analysis are prepared by an improved method from the aqueous system CsCl-HgCl2 containing trace amounts of DMSO. The structure is determined by 35Cl NMR and X-ray analyses. The space group is P21, Z = 2. Its structure contains isolated Cs+ and Hg2Cl-5 ions.
