PHILIP ROSEN From Eqs. (29) and (30), we find R ADIOCHEMICAL studies of a wide variety of products resulting from the bombardment of bismuth with 340-Mev, 1 480-Mev, 2 and 660-Mev 3 pro-* Research performed under the auspices of the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission.f Now at
It was demonstrated that the previously reported 1.8-hr Ce 145 and 4.5-hr Pr 145 do not occur among the uranium fission products. Ce 146 and Pr 146 were briefly reinvestigated: the former decays with a half-life of 13.9±0.6 minutes and emits 0-rays of 0.9-Mev maximum energy followed by soft Y-rays; the latter decays with a half-life of 24.4±0.5 minutes and its maximum /3-ray energy is 3.8 Mev. In addition, it was shown that any undiscovered short-lived Ce fission products must decay with half-lives shorter than 6 minutes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
