A flow-rate and conductivity transducer (FRACT) has been developed to
measure small liquid flow rates (~10mLmin-1) and conductivity on board a
centrifuge rotor with sustained centrifugal acceleration of approximately
3000 g. Design and operation of the FRACT are discussed. Stationary validation,
as well as dynamic validation aboard the rotating centrifuge, is described.
The means of calibration is documented, and some example results are presented.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
