The article describes the effect of the composition of the aqueous medium on the surface characteristics (ζ-potential, solubility, particle size, and dispersity) of the disperse phase of sparingly water-soluble non-ferrous and heavy metal compounds, as well as on their removal by the electroflotation method. The electroflotation efficiency can be improved by varying the surface characteristics of the dispersed phase by varying the pH and redox potential of the medium, as well as using different reagents and certain types of water-soluble polyelectrolytes of different functionalities under conditions optimal for their work.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
