Emission spectra of dense Kr + SF 6 gas mixtures with different composition excited by a pulsed beam of fast electrons are measured. The electron energy is 150 keV, and the amplitude and duration of a beam current pulse are 5 A and 5 ns. The composition of gas mixtures was Kr (190-1900) Torr and SF 6 (0.1-1.0) Torr. The efficiency of formation of excimer Kr 2 F* molecules was found to be high in dense (~1 atm) Kr-SF 6 mixtures with a low SF 6 donor content. The luminescence times and quenching constants of broadband emission of the Kr 2 F* molecule (λ max = 404.7 nm) by components of a gas mixture are measured.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
