Local leakage of bone cement was more common for percutaneous vertebroplasty compared with kyphoplasty (P<0.005). The most common sites of local leakage were perivertebral soft tissue and perivertebral vein.
Desmoid tumors are considered benign; they do not undergo malignant transformation nor do they metastasize. However, these tumors are locally very aggressive as they infiltrate surrounding tissue. These qualities can make desmoids difficult to diagnose, characterize, and follow. We present a case of a desmoid tumor following breast implant surgery. Further, we exemplify the advantages of magnetic resonance imaging for characterizing and following the progression of the tumor.
