Pune 411 008, I n d i a ABSTRACT Seven novel ethylcyanoacetatc-ruthenium complexes have been prepared. These include f o u r a d d i t i o n complexes, RuHC 1CO ( Pph 3 ) ( LH) , RuC12 ( PPh3) 2( M ) 2 , R u C l (LH)2w20 and Ru ( C O ) 8 ( W ) 4 [where L H = e t h y l c y a n o a c e t a t e ] , and t h r e e Ru-C Q bonded complexes obtained from t h e r e a c t i o n between t h e chloro-ruthenium complexes RuHClCO(PF% ) and RuClCp(PPh ) and t h e sodium d e r i v a t i v e of e t h y l c y a n o a c e t a t t , N C C H ( N a ) C O O C H or by t h e hydrogenolysis of RuHC~(CO)~ and RuHCp(PPh with LH [where Cp = 7) C .
