Reproducibility of superconducting properties and suitability for specific applications by means of customised finish are two important attributes required from commercial 2G HTS wire. This paper reviews the consistent performance of SuperOx production 2G HTS wire and describes two novel customisation options: surround polyimide varnish insulation and composite bulk materials assembled with 2G HTS wires soldered together.
The effective preparation method of epitaxial VO2 films on the r-Al2O3 substrates based on the MOCVD technique and postdeposition annealing is described. The composition, orientation and morphology of the films obtained were investigated by Raman spectroscopy, XRD, EBSD, XPS, SEM and AFM methods. The samples obtained demonstrate high crystal quality and excellent physical properties: sharp metal-insulator (>10 4 resistance change) and intensive optical reflectivity (IR and THz regions) transitions. The model of VO2 films recrystallization based on the peritectic decomposition of intergrain vanadium oxide phases is proposed.The new effective chemical synthesis of the epitaxial VO 2 films with record electrical and optical switch properties is presented.
Novel solution precursors for CeO 2 buffer layers, based on mixed-ligand hydroxocomplexes of lanthanide acetates and nitrates with monoethanolamine (MEA) and diglyme, acting as both ligands and solvents, have been developed. The formation of mixed-ligand Ce(IV) complexes in both liquid and transparent gel precursors have been confirmed by electrospray ionization-mass spectroscopy (ESI-MS) and 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The features of thermal decomposition of gel precursor samples were studied using thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermogravimetry (DTG) analyses in air and in argon. The advantages of the new precursors are the accessibility of high concentrations, stability, and excellent wetting behavior of Ni-5 at.% W substrates. Various elements can be easily incorporated into them as dopants, as was shown on an example of La 3þ . Epitaxial CeO 2 and CeO 2 (La) films were deposited on Ni-W cube-textured tapes from developed solutions via the metal-organic chemical solution deposition (MOCSD) method. Incorporation of La 3þ into the buffer layer leads to improvement in the oxide's texture and the film's surface.
