A new system is proposed for automatically feeding initial filaments of aluminum oxide in order to minimize their breakage and stabilize the production process. To realize the system, the process of filament transport was studied as a control object and a simply-built stepper drive with the required parameters was developed along with an algorithm and program to control the process. To investigate the statistical parameters of filament transport, the character of the change in the tension on filaments being unwound from a feed package is studied for different speed regimes (1.31, 1.51, 1.9, 3.43, and 7.8 m/min). The experimental data is analyzed in the article, which also presents formulas and results obtained by calculation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
