Transmigration, a phenomenon most often involving mandibular canine, refers to the migration of an unerupted tooth from its normal position to the contralateral side. Bilateral mandibular canine impaction with transmigration is a rare occurrence. These canines may exhibit kissing phenomenon in the radiograph. Very few cases of bilaterally impacted canines associated with dentigerous cyst have been reported. The case reported here deals with the management of kissing canines associated with dentigerous cyst.
Introduction:In endodontic treatment for permanent teeth, it is important to estimate the working length precisely. Currently, various methods are used in clinical practice for working length estimation. The objective of this study is to compare the accuracy of root canal length in permanent teeth determined by electronic apex locators, conventional and digital radiography.
Navicular fractures are the most common stress fractures of tarsal bones, with calcaneum fractures accounting for almost all of the remainder. Diagnosis is commonly delayed and these fractures carry on with a risk of displacement and nonunion, thus affecting the outcome.
A 17-year-old university level female athlete presented with pain along the anteromedial aspect of her foot suffering since one- and half-year without a history of specific trauma. On evaluation, she was found to have stress fracture of navicular bone which was neglected and has gone for nonunion.
Satisfactory outcome was achieved by open reduction and internal fixation with cancellous screw and iliac crest strut grafting followed by appropriate rehabilitation.
