Optical access or Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH), has long been considered a final solution to the problem of upgrading the current bottlenecked access to the one capable of delivering future broadband, integrated services. Passive Optical Network (PON) is the most promising architecture for fiber based access network. A complete simulation study of the PON is necessary for any communication channel for the practical implementation. In this paper, we proposed a link power budget estimation of for a 10 Gbit/s GPON architecture using an efficient dynamic bandwidth allocation scheme. We have analyzed the behavior various fiber parameters like fiber attenuation loss, pulse dispersion loss, dispersion limit, tunabiltity of wavelength and bandwidth-distance product with respect to power margin. We have considered NRZ coded by MZI modulator using DFB laser source as per ITU G.694 I 100 GHz Grid of C-band wavelength 193.30 THz (1550.92 nm) with six stage 1x2 splitter at remote node (equal to 64 ONUs). We have also studied the power penalty requirements at OLT even though changing laser source power from -7.5 to 15 dBm for the GPON architecture.

Passive Optical Network (PON) has utilizes for transporting higher bandwidths with secured triple play services (Voice, Video and Data -WD) in the fiber based broadband access network applications. Time division multiplexing PON (TDM PON) architecture can be made to support the transmission of higher data rates similar to WDM/DWDM PON. As per the literature analysis, TDM network limitation is to be upgraded still for time slot allocation and synchronization in higher bit rate transmission for more number of end users if required. In this paper we have analyzed the link power estimation for 10 Gbit/s TDM PON downstream transmission based on above issue. Also a complete investigation has done using optical signal delay, Fiber dispersion, splitting loss as major performance parameters. We have taken various measurements such as received signal and noise power, signal delay, extinction ratio, electrical and Optical signalto-noise ratio (ESNR and OSNR) with respect to Q-Factor and BER with case studies to improve the Quality of service(QoS) for 10G bit/s dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) scheme. The entire architecture performance has been found out through simulations with different approaches using normal and sweep iterative mode analysis (ΝΙΑ and SIA).
