The work presented in this paper deals with the reliability evaluation of Sulaimani-Erbil electrical Power System by two different techniques, minimal cut set and disjoint technique. Computer program is written in Basic language in order to implement tie set and cut set algorithms for the evaluation of the unreliability index of the power network.
Iraqi Kurdistan Region has a big potential in solar energy, because of its location and territorial extension. Yet the exploration of this technology not widely accepted in thisregion due to some reasons including the high installation cost, the lack of experience and technical unknowns. In this paper, a techno-economic analysis has been carried out toresolve some of these unknowns using 2MW solar power system and Chavy land city as a test bed. The system tries to contribute to part of daily energy demand of the place. Thewell-known computational System Advisor Model (SAM) simulation used to run technical and financial analysis. Simulation results showed that the system contributes significantly topower the area and reduce the load on the national grid. Although initial installation cost shows high prices, within a short period it would not only recover installation costs but alsohelp gain substantial disbursement through the lifetime of the system.
This paper presents the investigation and study of the regional communication-SCADA network used in the Iraqi north east electrical power system. The failure data of most important twelve RTU-stations are collected for the period [2001][2002][2003][2004][2005]. Reliability data such as failure rate, repair rate, MTTR and MTTF are calculated, and then used for evaluation of some important reliability indices such as availability and reliability. Alternative system proposed and models made for the present and the proposed system and their reliability were found and compared.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
