PurposeThis paper aims to explore employee perceptions of companies engaged in services and banking of the role of change leadership on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) that will impact the performance and work engagement in conditions that are experiencing rapid changes.Design/methodology/approachThis study has used a quantitative research approach, and data analysis uses an approach structural equation modeling (SEM) supported by program computer software AMOS 22.0. A total of 357 respondents were involved in this study, but only 254 were qualified. In this study, the respondent is an employee of companies engaged in the services and banking sector in the East Java, Indonesia region.FindingsThe results reveal that AI has a significant positive effect on employee performance and work engagement. Change leadership positively moderates the influence of AI on employee performance and work engagement.Originality/valueThe development of this model has a novelty by including the moderating variable of the role of change leadership because, in conditions that are experiencing rapid changes, the role of leaders is essential. After all, leaders are decision-makers in the organization. The development of this concept focuses on studies of companies engaged in services and banking. Employee performance is an essential determinant in the organization because it will improve organizational performance. In addition, the application of AI in organizations will experience turmoil, so that the critical role of leaders is needed to achieve success with employee work engagement.
Ramadan in the year of 2020 is the witness of global pandemic caused by the spread of Covid-19 that significantly alters human behaviors. In response to the current phenomenon, the present study is conducted to scrutinize how the holy month of Ramadan and global pandemic affect human religiosity and donating behaviors. To this end, this study employed a web-based questionnaire to gather the required data from 128 Indonesians who were voluntarily participated upon invitation. Using WarpPLS to analyze the data, the results showed that there was a significant influence of global pandemic situation and Ramadan on the level of religiosity. Moreover, the pandemic situation also encouraged the exist growth of donation institutions. This study further revealed the positive impact of the holy month of Ramadan and religiosity on human donating behaviors. In other words, Ramadan and global pandemic increased the level of human religiosity and the existence of donation institutions, as a results, their donating behaviors were also improved. However, this study found that the existence of donation institutions did not have any influence on human donating behaviors. These results offer an implication that Ramadan and global pandemic obviously provide a direct impact on religiosity and human donating behaviors.
The distribution of zakat in the form of productive zakat has been widely applied by the Amil Zakat Agency and the Amil Zakat Institution. Lazismu Gresik Zakat Center as an Amil Zakat Institution provides capital assistance to mustahik from productive zakat in order to develop their micro-businesses. This study intends to analyze how the Zakat Center Lazismu Gresik has utilized it in developing mustahik's micro-businesses and to find out the differences between micro-business development before receiving and after receiving productive zakat assistance. In this research, the method used is descriptive qualitative research by conducting an in-depth interview. This study shows the results that the utilization of productive zakat has a major effect on the development of mustahik-owned micro-businesses.
This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of Islamic Leadership on Work Motivation, Islamic Performance, and Welfare of Islamic Hospital Employees in Tulungagung Regency. The unit of analysis in this study is the employees of Islamic Hospital or Islamic nuanced hospitals in Tulungagung. While population in this research are employees of Islamic hospitals in Tulungagung District, and sampledby 133 people. Methods of research using quantitative structural equation models with AMOS software. The results can be summarized as follows: Islamic leadership influences employee motivation in Islamic hospitals. Islamic Leadership affects the performance of Islamic Hospital employees. Islamic leadership affects the welfare of employees in Islamic hospitals. Working motivation affects the performance of employees of Islam Hospital. But the motivation and performance did not effect significantly to the employee welfare at the Islamic hospital in Tulungagung.
