Precision of fit of indirect class II composite inlays built on silicone modelsThis in vitrostudy compares manual production to CAD / CAM production of indirect composite inlays. Each 10 inlays were built for both groups and were adapted into a cavity of an artificial metal tooth. Silicone replicas of the cement gaps were made. The thicknesses of these replicas were measured using a light reflecting microscope. It could be shown that the precision of the inlays which were manually produced was significally better (p < 0,001) than the precision of the CAD / CAM inlays.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
