The specific retention volumes, V 0 g , for 21 solute probes were determined on a 1:1 cellulose acetate propionate (CAP)-poly(caprolactone)diol (PCLD) blend in the temperature range 343.15-413.15 K by inverse gas chromatography. The retention diagrams of solutes revealed a phase transition in the blend at about 393 K, and it was identified with the glass transition temperature. The CAP-PCLD blend is in the solid phase up to 393 K, hence the Hansen solubility parameters (HSP) of the blend surface were calculated using V 0 g . The three components of the HSP, dispersive, d d 2 , polar, d p 2 , and hydrogen bonding, d h 2 , for the blend surface decreased with increase of temperature. The HSP of the blend were compared with the corresponding values obtained on pure CAP surface: d d 2 and d p 2 values are lower in the blend than in the pure CAP, whereas d h 2 is higher in the blend than in the pure CAP. The effect of the addition of PCLD on the HSP of CAP is discussed.
