Acidic chromium (VI) containing effluents are emerging from different plant practices : chronicacidanhydride production, chromium plating. chemical passivation treatment of steel etc.A. chromium (VI) is highly toxic. it has t o be removed from these waste liquors before draining into aurface waters. Classical treatment of these solutions is generally done in two ateps : reduction of Cr VI to Cr 111, followed by precipitation as Cr(OH)3.
