Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) as the most common malignancy in children is associated with high mortality and significant relapse. Currently, the non-invasive diagnosis of pediatric ALL is a main challenge in the early detection of patients. In the present study, a systems biology approach was used through network-based analysis to identify the key candidate genes related to ALL development and relapse. Materials and methods: In this systems biology (experimental) study, main and validating datasets were retrieved from a gene expression omnibus (GEO). Gene expression analyses were done using a bioinformatics array research tool (BART) and ExAtlas. Gene ontology and pathway enrichment analysis were also performed via Database for Annotation, Visualization and Integrated Discovery (DAVID). Furthermore, the Search Tool for the Retrieval of Interacting Genes (STRING) and cytoscape V.3.9.1 were used to network construction and analysis. The MCODE and NCMine Plugin of cytoscape were applied to find clusters and a functional module in the network. The Kaplan Myer curve was applied in order to survival analysis of the validated candidate genes. A P-value of < 0.05 was considered as significant. Results: A total of 671 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) mainly involved in transporter/channel activity functions, cell communication/signaling processes and fatty acid transport/PPAR signaling/eicosanoid metabolism pathways were identified (P-value < 0.05). The main cellular compartments were plasma membrane, cell periphery and cell surface (P-value <0.05). The network analysis revealed 68 hub genes, 29 of which were candidate genes. Five candidate genes were also validated in two independent experiments. These genes were considered as key candidate genes, and three of them (BCL2L11, IGF1, PDE5A) were predictors of pediatric ALL patients survival (P-value < 0.05). Conclusion: BCL2L11, IGF1 and PDE5A genes, as key candidate genes, are potentially good diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for pediatric ALL.
PurposeThe Journal of Intellectual Capital (JIC) celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2020. Therefore, the present study aims to provide a general overview of the history and key trends in this journal during 2000–2019.Design/methodology/approachTwo types of citation and textual data during a 20-year journal period were retrieved from the Scopus database. The citation structures and contents were explored based on a combination of bibliometric analysis, altmetric analysis and text mining. The journal themes and trends of their changes were analyzed through citation bursts, mapping and topic modeling. To make a better comparison, the text mining process for the topic modeling of the IC field was performed in addition to the topic modeling of JIC.FindingsBibliometric analysis indicated that JIC has experienced a remarkable growth in terms of the number of publications and citations over the last 20 years. The results indicated that JIC plays a significant role among IC researchers. Additionally, a large number of researchers, institutes and countries have made contributions to this journal and cited its research papers. Altmetric analysis showed that JIC has been shared in different social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Wikipedia, Mendeley, Citeulike, news and blogs. Text mining abstract of JIC articles indicated that “measurement,” “financial performance” and “IC reporting” have the relative prevalence with increasing trends over the past 20 years. In addition, “research trends” and “national and international studies” had a stable trend with low thematic share.Research limitations/implicationsThe findings have important implications for the JIC editorial team in order to make informed decisions about the further development of JIC as well as for IC researchers and practitioners to make more valuable contributions to the journal.Originality/valueUsing bibliometric analysis, altmetric analysis and text mining, this study provided a systematic and comprehensive analysis of JIC. The simultaneous use of these methods provides an interesting, unique and suitable capacity to analyze the journals by considering their various aspects.
This paper proposes a new bid based redispatching method to relieve congestion in a pool type market, based on bilateral generation exchanges between generation units. Sensitivity analysis is used to find and implement the cheapest consecutive bilateral exchanges that would remove congestion in an iterative process. Congestion cost is calculated as exchange cost during congestion removal and is divided between congested parts using load flow results in each iteration. Divided cost is recovered from consumers, based on their relative contributions on congested parts using generalized load distribution factors. IEEE 39 and 118 bus test systems are used for case study to evaluate the merits of proposed method and the results are discussed in comparison with other conventional methods.
Background and Objectives: Every scientific activity needs to know the previous related scientific activities so that its various aspects can be better investigated in order to obtain a richer intellectual heritage. So this article aims to identify and analyze the historical origins of ergonomics using two scientometric techniques named RPYS and RPYS-Co.Methods: This applied research was conducted in a scientometrics method. The research data consists of 31239 articles in the field of Ergonomics which were indexed over the 20-year period (2000)(2001)(2002)(2003)(2004)(2005)(2006)(2007)(2008)(2009)(2010)(2011)(2012)(2013)(2014)(2015)(2016)(2017)(2018)(2019) in Web of Science database. After extracting all the references of these articles, the results were analyzed using the CRExplorer software.Results: Results showed that in the field of ergonomics, from 1700 to 2000, a total of 19 mutations occurred in the two periods of 1900-1700 and 2000-1900. The article "the information capacity of the human motor system in controlling the amplitude of movement" by Fitts (1954) was recognized as an outstanding and index work. According to RPYS-CO results, the most co-citations with index work are related to the works of 1997 and 2004, which are on Fitts Law. Conclusion:In the period of 1700 to1900 influential works were related to psychology, biology, and economics, and during 1900-2000 influential works were related to psychological theories, work environment, and research methodology.
