Abstract-Due to the special structure of current carrying planar spiral coils, precise calculation of the forces between them is complicated and time-consuming. To overcome these problems, in this paper a new and fast method is proposed for calculation of the magnetic forces between planar spiral coils. The advantage of the proposed method is that just by having the external dimension of coils and their number of turns, the force between them at different distances and with different currents can be calculated. The results obtained by direct and proposed calculation methods show the efficiency of the latter in simplicity and calculation time. The precision of the proposed method has been confirmed by experimental tests done on constructed coils.
