KEYWORDSUltrasound; Knee joint; Power Doppler; Synovial.Abstract The aim of this article is to review the sonographic appearances of common disorders involving the knee joint. Ultrasound is a sensitive method for diagnosis of tendon injuries. Injured ligaments appear swollen with mixed echogenicity. Meniscal injuries and muscle tears can be easily diagnosed. Ultrasound shows synovial thickening and effusion in inflammatory arthropathy and erosions of the articular surface in degenerative arthritis. It can be used effectively in the detection of rheumatoid arthritic activity and for grading degenerative arthritis lesions. Cystic lesions, as well as benign and malignant soft-tissue masses, are clearly delineated. Ultrasound is a safe noninvasive imaging modality that can be used for diagnosis of different disorders involving the knee joint. ª
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE:DECT offers additional image datasets with potential benefits, but its use for H&N imaging is not justified unless image quality is preserved without increased radiation dose. The aim of this work was to compare image quality and radiation dose between a DE-derived WA image dataset and a standard SECT acquisition of the H&N.
Diffusion-weighted echo-planar MR imaging is a promising noninvasive modality that may be helpful in differentiating malignant soft tissue tumours from benign masses as well as in grading malignancy.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
