One of the most important techniques of information hiding is a steganography. Steganography is the art of hiding information within other information or carriers (i.e. text, image, video or audio) in such a way that it is hard or even impossible to tell that it is there. In This paper, a new text steganography method is proposed. The main goal of this method is to use text file as a carrier for the secret message data in such a manner that the resultant text file attracts no attention and hold the same meaning of the original file.

Steganography is a Greek origin word which means "hidden writing". Steganography word is classified into two parts: Steganos which means "secret or covered" (where you want to hide the secret messages) and the graphic which means "writing". It is one of the most important techniques of data hiding. By using steganography, secret messages can be hidden in carriers such as images, audio files, text files and videos. In this paper we tried to enhance the performance of the image steganography technique by modifying the secret message itself not the technique of embedding. That's by using a new encoding technique that we called it Mobile Phone Keypad encoding or MPK encoding, that can represent the secret message characters by two decimal digits only not three decimal digits as ASCII encoding. So, it can save one third of the required space for embedding. Finally, we are hoping to globalize this new MPK encoding technique to be used in the field of steganography.
The rapid development of data transfer through the internet made it easier to send and receive gigabytes of data accurately. One of the most important factors of information technology and communication is the security of the information. For security purposes, the concept of steganography has been used. Steganography is a covert communication in which the existence of the message is not known to anyone other than the sender and the receiver. The secrecy is gained by hiding information in other information or carriers like audio, video, digital images etc., but digital images are the most popular carriers, that's because a lot of reasons such as their frequency on the internet. In fact, there exists a large variety of image steganography techniques some are more complex than others and all of them have respective strong and weak points, because of these weak points this work has been proposed. This paper contains a new proposed method which can be applied on any previously proposed image steganography technique as a pre-processing step to be added before the embedding steps to make the technique achieves its goals and strengthen its weak points, this method is the "Cover Package" which briefly means instead of using only one cover image to hide the secret message, a lot of cover images or a package of cover images can be used.
