This article discusses student’s mathematics learning difficulties with the aim of describing student’s mathematics learning difficulties on the subject of power numbers. The method used in this research is descriptive which is carried out in class IX odd semester for the academic year 2021/2022. The subjects of this study were 20 students of class IX1of SMP Negeri 1 Biluhu. There were also three interview subjects who represented the high category, medium category, and low category. The instrument of this research is a difficult test in the form of an essay on the material of rank numbers. To see learning difficulties, 3 indicators are used, namely: (1) difficulties in learning principles, (2) difficulties in learning concepts, and (3) difficulties in learning operations. The results of this study indicate that the learning difficulties of class IX students of SMP country 1 Biluhu are in the moderate category.
This research is a quantitative descriptive study that aims to describe students' mathematical problem-solving abilities through project assignments on integer material. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Limboto in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The subjects in this study were class VII students, totalling 26 students. Data collection was obtained from test results in the form of project assignments and interviews were conducted to add to the information obtained. The results showed that the average achievement for students' abilities in completing project assignments was still moderate, namely 70%. This is indicated by the achievement of indicators understanding the problem by 90%, indicators planning a solution by 72%, indicators solving problems by 62% and indicators re-examining the results obtained by 52%.
This research aims to look at the influence of guided discovery learning models on students' learning outcomes. The type of research used is experimental research. Sampling in this research was conducted by simple random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using instruments in the form of observation sheets and tests of learning outcomes. The data obtained is then analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results of the data analysis showed that the students’ learning outcomes taught by the guided discovery model are higher than students’ learning outcomes taught by conventional models, and the guided discovery model was effective in teaching material surface area and volume of upright and pyramid prisms.
This study aims to describe students' discovery abilities in the learning process and when facing problems in the material derived from algebraic functions. The research was carried out in one of the Senior high schools in Gorontalo. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this study were students of class XI who opened 318 people. The techniques used in data collection are initial tests, interviews, documentation, and observation. Data analysis techniques in this study are data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results showed that students' discovery abilities on the derivative material of algebraic functions varied. Some have high abilities, medium abilities, and low abilities, but in general, they are dominated by students who have moderate abilities.
