This paper aims to present a typology of woman journalists in media organizations. It utilizes qualitative research method based on in depth interviews with a number of women journalists in the Province of Lampung. Generally, journalist profession is regarded as a man's world. The nature of work in journalism is considered a competition, especially perceived by male journalists. Equality of rights and obligations is also given a positive value by journalists. Likewise, the appreciation of the voice of women in determining institutional policies is a concrete form of institutional recognition of women's own presence. In the context of gender relations, women journalists reported experiencing the patriarchal environment in which they work in. So much so, that even some women journalists adopted patriarchal values at work. In the context of democratization of gender-based media, the typology of women journalists makes it possible for activism efforts. Literatures also reported low participation of women in media institutions, discriminative patterns of relationships, patriarchal environment, low gender awareness as well as gender-sensitive journalistic work. The study found that female journalists are divided into two typologies, which are: hegemonised women journalists and women journalists as actors of resistance. Hegemony and resistance occur at three levels: gender awareness, media institutions and media routine, as well as context of extra media and patriarchal ideology.

This study discussed Republika-a widely circulated national newspaper in Indonesia-as ICMI's articulation medium. The main question lies here is how did Republika conducted its social practices role in the New Order Era in order to frame Islam and its state relation? Employing descriptive qualitative method, this research analyzed some news event dated back on July, 26th, 1996. The research aimed to understand ICMI political journalism reflected by Republika daily news, and relate it to the journalist respons and sociopolitical context during New Order Era. It was found that Republika was an actor resulted from sociopolitical struggles during New Order Era. At the end of 90's, Republika was really aware of the objective conditions happened during New Order era. Republika was also understanding such changes that happened within elites and society, and then placed itself as the actor of change by conducting a kind of resistance through its respons and report. As an alternative discourse, this resistance was appeared on Republika's report concerning the involvement of Partai Rakyat Demokratik (PRD-Democratic People Party) in July, 27th, 1996 chaos.

Perkembangan teknologi digital yang terjadi saat ini membuat segala aspek perlu memahami hal yang berkiatan dengan teknologi dan digitalisasi. Salah satu hal yang perlu diperhatikan atas perkembangan zaman ini adalah data pribadi perseorangan. Setiap individu di era 4.0 ini berhak melindungi data pribadi masing-masing. Hak atas data pribadi juga merupakan privasi dan bagian dari Hak Asasi Manusia (HAM) sehingga harus dilindungi lebih lanjut demi kelangsungan individu.Tujuan penyuluhan ini adalah mengedukasi siswa/siswi dan guru SMA Bina Mulya Gadingrejo Kabupaten Pringsewu mengenai pentingnya perlindungan data pribadi di internet sehingga dapatmeningkatkan kesadaran siswa/siswi dan guru SMA Bina Mulya Gadingrejo Kabupaten Pringsewu dalam memanfaatkan media sosial dengan efektif serta memahami penggunaan data pribadi sesuai kebutuhan. Metode pelaksanaannya yaitu tim menyampaikan materi dengan metode ceramah, memberikan tayangan – tayangan kasus pencurian data pribadi, peserta menyimak materi dan dapat mengajukan pertanyaan. Komunikasi interaktif melalui diskusi dilakukan dalam kegiatan ini. Berdasarkan dari hasil pre test dan post test, tingkat pengetahuan guru dan siswa SMA Bina Mulya Gadingrejo Pringsewu mengenai pentingnya menjaga data pribadi mengalami peningkatan sebesar 38,61 persen. Peningkatan sebesar itu menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan memberikan dampak positif bagi pengetahuan guru dan siswa dalam pentingnya melindungi data pribadi.
