This study was conducted in vegetable field of Hort. Dep./college of Agric. and forestry / Mosul University to evaluate the effect of Humic acid and Tecamin max on growth, seeds and pod yield of green pisum. Study consist of seven treatments as follow: control, 4 and 6 g.l−1 Humic acid, 3 and 6 ml.l−1 Tecamin max, mixture of 2 g.l−1 Humic acid +1.5 ml.l−1 Tecamin max and mixture of 3 g.l−1 + 3 ml.l−1 Tecamin max. The treatment were applied at 3 dosages, the first applied after 40 days from planting and the second after 70 days and third after 100 days of planting.Randomized complete block design were used with 3 replicates. The important results were as follow: 1. Most of organic fertilization treatments were superior on control treatment in all vegetative growth and green yield parameters. 2. Mixture treatment of 3 g.l−1 Humic acid + 3 ml.l−1 of Tecamin max was the best treatment as compared with other organic fertilization treatments, which gave the highest values in most of vegetative growth, yield, green seed and biological yield. 3. Addition of Humic acid treatments gave the best results as compared with Tecamin max. addition 4 g.l of Humic acid was superior treatment as compared with others treatment.
This research was conducted in unheated plastic house at Horticulture and Landscape Design Department, College of Agriculture & Forestry, Mosul University, during the growing season 2012-2013. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of magnetic water and urea spray on the yield of two lettuce cultivars in NFT culture system, transplants of two lettuce varieties (Regina dei ghiacci and Great Lakes 118) were continuously treated by three intensities of magnetic water (0 ,750 and 1500 gauss) during the experiment period and two foliar sprays of pure urea at three concentrators (0, 0.125 and 0.250 %) were applid.Asplit-split plot system within a randomize complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates was used to carry out this experiment. Results data could be summarized as follows the Regina dei ghiacci variety has been significantly superior in the percentage protein .with Great Lakes 118 variety. while the Great Lakes 118 variety was significantly superior in percentage of the percentage leaf chlorophyll content. All urea treatments caused a significant increase all lettuce parameters as compared with control treatment.Using magnetic water at 750 gauss intensities caused a significant increasment in most yield parameters as compared with control treatment. Mean while Generally, the interaction treatments caused extra effect on vegetative characteristics as compared with the effect of each single factor.
This experiment was carried out in the laboratory of the College of Agric. and Forestry at the University of Mosul, with the aim of studying some indicators of the cut inflorescences quality of two cultivars of the Chrysanthemum plant (Dendranthema grandiflorum Ramat.) with white and red inflorescences and delaying their senescence, as the bases of the cut inflorescences were immersed in the holding solution containing gibberellic acid at 0 and 25 mgl−1 and calcium carbonate at 0, 100 and 200 mgl−1 and their interactions. The Factorial experiment was conducted by a randomized complete block design. The results indicated that the cultivar with white inflorescences were recorded a significant increase in the values of the characteristics of the relative change in the inflorescences fresh weight and the amount of change in the inflorescences diameter, which reached to 87.79% and 87.37%, respectively, a significant increase was recorded in the volume of water absorbed by inflorescences and the inflorescences dry weight at the end of the experiment. The immersion in gibberellic acid at 25 mgl−1 resulted in a significant increase in the change of inflorescences fresh weight, change in the inflorescence diameter, volume of water absorbed of 10.19 cm3 and inflorescences dry weight 1.21 g. While immersion in calcium carbonate at 200 mgl−1 led to a significant increase in the amount of change in the inflorescences fresh weight, the change in the inflorescence’s diameter, and the inflorescences dry weight, which were 87.46%, 87.38%, and 1.270 g, respectively. It can be said that the inflorescences of the red variety that were added to the preservation solution of gibberellic acid at 25 mgl−1 and calcium carbonate at 200 mgl−1 recorded the largest significant values for the characteristics of the change in the inflorescences fresh weight, change in the inflorescence diameter, and the volume of water absorbed.
