The north coast of Rembang have mangrove forest that remaining area in Central Java, One of the important habitat of mangrove crab (Scylla spp.) was Pasar Banggi coast. Trap net as the main fishing gear used for mangrove crab in those areas. The high market demand for the mangrove rab their sustainability. This research will record and analyze the abundance and diversity of mangrove crabs on the Banggi Market beach conducted in February-March 2019 by using quadrant transect line methods. Observation made consist of 3 (three) stations where each station has 9 plots with the size of plot of 10 x 10m. Furthermore, the relative abundance indices (IKR) and diversity indices of Shanon-Wienner (H’) were calculated for each station. The results showed that the value of IKR in each station was relatively high. The highest value (37.74%) found at station 2 and the lowest (25.165) at station 1. Based on the species caught, the highest IKR (53.5%) was species of Scylla tranquebarica and the lowest (20.8%) was Scylla serrata The average of H’ were low relativelly for all stations with the highest value (1.060) at station 2 and the lowest (0.697) at station 1. It is recommended that mangrove management be carried out in Pasarbanggi coast immediately so that the utilization of mangrove crab resources can continue.
This research aims to find out the health condition of catfish (Clarias gariepinus) based on hematology and to find out the blood endoparasite type of catfish (Clarias gariepinus) bred in Mangkubumen Boyolali. The sample collection of catfish in this research was conducted in Mangkubumen, Boyolali. The catfish becoming the sample had following criteria: 3 month old, 100-150 gr weight, and 20-25 cm long. The sample of catfish was taked from 5 pools, it was taken 10 fishes from each pool. The hematological parameter measurement including erythrocyte number , leukocyte number, hemoglobin content, hematocrit value, and the preparation of blood smear preparation was conducted in UNS central laboratory. The hematological parameter data of catfish sample obtained was compared with the hematological parameter of the healthy catfish. The smear preparation was used for observing the endoparasite existence on sample blood of catfish. The result of research shows the hematocrit value of 19.3-23.3 %, the erythrocyte number of 1.4-2.5 x 10 6 cells/mm 3
There are population of silver barb (Barbonymus gonionotus) in Bengawan Solo River, Dengkeng River, Opak River and Gajah Mungkur Reservoir. Bengawan Solo River’s flow meet Dengkeng River’s flow while Opak River’s flow separated from the two other made an interesting phenomenon of population separability to study diversity and grouping between populations through morphological markers. The study aimed to analyze the diversity of silver barb in the Bengawan Solo River, Dengkeng River, Opak River and Gajah Mungkur Reservoir based on morphological characters. Measurement of morphological characters with morphometric methods with 14 measured morphological characters. Measurement of water chemical and physical factors include temperature, current velocity, depth, pH, dissolved oxygen and substrate. The result showed that the four distinguished morphological characteristics of the population predominantly in silver barb (B. gonionotus) were the dorsal depth, snouth length and caudal pundacle depth. Group analysis showed that silver barb population of the Bengawan Solo River had morphological characters more similar to the Dengkeng River than Opak River and Gajah Mungkur Reservoir because of the similarity of habitat and proximity of the location. Based on the most influential environmental factors is the difference in current velocity.
Wijayanti II, Budiharjo A, Pangastuti A, Prihapsara F, Artanti AN. 2018. Total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of ginger extract and SNEDDS with eel fish bone oil (Anguilla spp.). Nusantara Bioscience 10: 164-169. Aims of this study were to measure phenolic content of ginger (Zingiber officinale) and to observe the comparison of antioxidant activity between pure ginger extract and ginger extract in SNEDDS (Self Nanoemulsifying Drug Delivery System) with bone of eel fish oil (Anguilla spp.) as a conductor. Analysis was done based on IC50 value using DPPH (2,2 diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method and activity of Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) in vivo using Adrenochrome Assay. Determination of total phenolic content of ginger extract was measured by UV/Vis Spectrophotometric using Folin-Ciocalteau reagents then the absorbances were measured at wavelength 756 nm. Calculation of IC50 DPPH of the ginger extract and SNEDDS were measured using spectrophotometer UV/Vis at 517 nm wavelength. Measurements of SOD was based on the ability of SOD inhibit spontaneous auto reduction of epinephrine using Adrenochrome Assay at 12 male Wistar rats that divided into 4 treatment groups with 3 replicates for each group. Total phenolic content of ginger extract from 3 replications were 4,8519 ± 0,037 µg/mL equivalent with gallic acid standard solutions (GAE) or 485,1847 ± 3,7045 mgGAE/100 g dry weight. Antioxidant scavenging activity by DPPH assay of ginger was higher than SNEDDS. IC50 of ginger was 385.4 mg/mL, and IC50 of SNEDDS was 428.4 mg/mL. The result of descriptive analysis of Kruskal Wallis of SOD activity assay indicated significant differences between treatment groups (P = 0.001 (P <0.05)). SOD activity test performed in vivo showed that ginger extract made into SNEDDS system with eel fish oil used as the conductor has a significant influence compared with ginger extract group.
