Barchan dune is a peculiar type of dune that forms in wind corridors at the Inner Zone of Parangtritis Sand Dune. Their existence is increasingly threatened by land-use changes, especially vegetation coverage. This research illustrates the dynamics of vegetation cover change at the Inner Zone with the NDVI value approach using Sentinel-2 imagery. We also conduct field surveys to determine the actual condition of barchan dunes and compare it to previous morphology data. We only used the slip face height as a parameter of the barchan morphometric. The result showed that the vegetation coverage changed annually in different parts of the Inner Zone from 2015 until 2019. This vegetation covers controlled by restoration program in 2015 and 2016. The vegetation density on the transport zone more significantly affected the morphology of barchan than vegetation density which grow on the barchan body. Based on field data, mostly barchan dunes (10 barchans) experienced a decrease of slip face height than increased slip face height (4 barchans). All of the decreased barchans located in the middle of the Inner zone. The most decreased slip face height as low as 29.3 meters.
Abstrak Pemantauan garis pantai akibat adanya proses akresi dan abrasi merupakan salah satu upaya untuk menjaga batas wilayah wilayah di Kabupaten Kendal. Lima multitemporal citra Landsat 7 ETM+ dalam periode tahun 20 tahun (2000-2020) digunakan untuk menganalisis perubahan garis pantai di Kabupaten Kendal.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perubahan garis pantai dan menganalisis dampak serta upaya mitigasi dalam menangani perubahan garis pantai di Kabupaten Kendal. Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) digunakan untuk menganalisis perubahan garis pantai dengan metode Net Shoreline Movement (NSM), End Point Rate (EPR), dan Linear Regression Rate-of-Change (LRR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai tertinggi dari Linear Regression Rate-of-Change (LRR) selama periode 20 tahun adalah sebesar 50,9 m/tahun sedangkan nilai terendah sebesar -35,81 meter/tahun. Nilai rata-rata EPR dan NSM selama periode 20 tahun adalah sebesar -0,07 m/tahun dan -1,14 meter. Berdasarkan studi ini, dampak dari perubahan garis pantai yang disebabkan abrasi dan akresi adalah adanya peningkatan dan penurunan luas wilayah. Bentuk mitigasi perubahan garis pantai di Kabupaten Kendal yakni dengan pembangunan breakwater dan penanaman hutan mangrove. Abstract Monitoring shoreline change due to accretion and abrasion processes is one of the efforts to protect the maritime boundary of Kendal Regency. Five multi-temporal Landsat 7 ETM + images spanning 20 years (2000-2020) is used in the tudy for the analysis of shoreline change in Kendal Regency. This study aims to investigate the shoreline change, analyze the impact, and propose mitigation of shoreline change in Kendal Regency as well. Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) is utilized for the analysis of the shoreline change through Net Shoreline Movement (NSM), End Point Rate (EPR), and Linear Regression Rate-of-Change (LRR). The result shows that the highest value of the Linear Regression Rate (LRR) for 20 years is 50.09 m/year and the lowest value of LRR is -35.81 m/year. The average EPR and NSM are -0.07 m/years and -1.14 m. From this study, it can be observed that the impact of shoreline change induced by accretion and abrasion are the addition and subtraction of the predetermined area. The impacts can be mitigated by building breakwaters and planting mangroves.
The increasing number of Jakarta Special Province residents further increased the amount of land required for daily usages. In order to maintain and improve the economy, agricultural land-use continued to be converted into non-agricultural land-use. The reduced amount of agricultural land-use was able to increase the population pressure on said land, surpassing the land carrying capability. Analyzing the remaining land resources of Jakarta Special Province aimed to understand the changes in land-use, land carrying capability, the scale of land resources, and to determine the population pressure of the residents of Jakarta Special Province. The methods used in this analysis was to use secondary data, presented in the form of tables, graphs, and maps, as well as quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. In general, Jakarta Special Province had experienced a conversion of agricultural land-use into non-agricultural land-use (e.g. residential and industrial) between the year 2010 to 2018. The number of residents had exceeded the carrying capacity of Jakarta’s land. This resulted from a growing need for non-agricultural land as well as the amount of population pressure, causing the unmet settlement needs.
Avocado is a favorite tropical fruit that offers many benefits. However, the packaging of fresh avocados has not been able to protect the fruit from physical injury and the lack of information obtained by consumers. The aim of this study was to develop avocado packaging that is good and appropriate according to consumer needs. The method used was the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) approach. The QFD method includes the stage of collecting the voice of the customer, creating the House of Quality (HoQ), and the stage of analysis and evaluation. The results indicated that attributes required by the costumers include fruit size, information completeness, perforation, design, shape, and material of packaging. While, the technical responses to be created were i.e. homogeneous fruit size, attractive packaging design, packaging with shapes that match the avocado, packaging that can explain the product in detail, eco-friendly packaging materials and protect from physical damage, and packaging with a circulation hole or perforation.
