Tofu liquid waste contains organic substances such as carbohydrates, proteins and fats, which can be used as organic liquid fertilizer. These substances must be broken down into small elements by fermentation process so it can be absorbed by plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the most optimum duration of fermentation, and also the variation of EM4 additional in starter of banana peels and cabbage or according to the requirements of Permentan No. 70/2011. The ratio of EM4 with filtrate of banana peels and cabbage that used is 10 ml /100 ml; 20 ml /100 ml; 30 ml /100 ml; 40 ml /100 ml and 50 ml /100 ml. The volume of tofu liquid waste used is 500 ml for each EM4 / Starter ratio. Fermentation carried out anaerobically for 4 hours; 5 days; 10 days and 15 days. The Nitrogen, P 2 O 5 and K 2 O of organic liquid fertilize was analyzed. The optimum result was obtained in the 10 days fermentation duration process with ratio of 40 ml / 100 ml (EM4 / Starter). Nitrogen, P 2 O 5 and K 2 O are obtained about 1.24%; 1.01% and 3.36% respectively.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menurunkan kadar logam berat pada limbah cair industri emas (PT X) di Surabaya. Limbah industri PT. X ini memiliki kandungan logam – logam berat yang dapat disetarakan dengan limbah industri Electroplating. Limbah cair dari industri perhiasan emas sebagian besar merupakan limbah anorganik dengan kandungan asam yang cukup tinggi (pH rendah). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode presipitasi(pengendapan) dengaan beberapa variable yaitu jenis bahan pengendap(NaOH dan CaOH), pH larutan dan waktu pengendapan. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa , dengan penambahan Ca(OH) maupun NaOH semakin tingi pH , maka semakin besar pula % Removal logam Cu, Ni, Zn dan Fe. Demikian pula dengan variable waktu flokulasi maka semakin lama waktu flokulasi maka semakin besa.% Removal logam Cu, Ni, Zn dan Fe. Untuk pH optimum yang dapat menurunkan kadar logam Cu, Ni, Zn dan Fe adalah pada pH 12. Besarnya % removal logam Cu, Ni, Zn & Fe dengan penambahan koagulan NaOH berturut – turut adalah 99.993% , 99.877%, 99.946% dan 99.935%. Besarnya % removal logam Cu, Ni, Zn dan Fe dengan penambahan koagulan Ca(OH)2 berturut – turut adalah 99.994%, 99.936%, 99.949% dan 99.941%. Sedangkan waktu flokulasi optimum untuk menurunkan kadar logam Cu, Ni, Zn dan Fe adalah pada waktu flokulasi 30 menit.
