Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk budaya sekolah berprestasi, proses penanaman nilai dan etos berprestasi kepada peserta didik dan mengetahui implikasi dari pengembangan budaya sekolah berprestasi di SMA Karangturi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk budaya sekolah berprestasi di SMA Karangturi mencakup empat poin yaitu: keseimbangan antara pembinaan akademik dan nonakademik, penanaman karakter melalui pelajaran, budaya mencintai almamater dan pentingnya nilai kerokhanian. Penanaman nilai dan etos berprestasi pada peserta didik dilakukan melalui kegiatan orientasi sekolah, proses pembelajaran, evaluasi belajar, ekstrakurikuler, penghargaan prestasi, kecintaan terhadap almamater, keteladanan guru, kerjasama dengan orangtua peserta didik dan seragam patriot sebagai media penanaman budaya berprestasi. Implikasi penanaman pengembangan budaya sekolah berprestasi di SMA Karangturi terdapat dalam input (penerimaan siswa baru dan pencarian siswa berpotensi), proses (pengembangan program sekolah serta pengembangan kerjasama) dan output (prestasi akademik dan nonakademik serta jumlah alumni yang melanjutkan ke perguruan tinggi). The objective of this study is to describe a model of school achievement culture, the cultivation of values and ethos of achievement to students and know the implications of the development of school culture on students’ achievement in Karangturi high school. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. Techniques of collecting data were observation, interviews and documentation. This study uses sources and methods triangulation for data validation. The results show that the school achievement culture in Karangturi high school contains four pillars, namely: a balance between academic and non-academic achievement, building character through the lesson, love the school and the importance of religious values. The building of values and ethos of achievement on student is done through school orientation activities, learning process, evaluation, extracurricular achievement awards, love the school, teachers exemplary, cooperation with parents and students, patriot uniform as media to build achievement culture. The implications of the building of achievement culture manifest in the input (new admissions and the search for potential students), processes (development of school programs and development of cooperation) and output (academic and non-academic achievement and the number of alumni who go on to college).
Every community has a model of education to deliver children as human beings are whole in the context of the culture. Even so by the community Sedulur Sikep that exists in Sukolilo, Pati, Jawa Central applying the teachings locally in the practice of education. Interestingly, amid an all-round era, the global community of Sedulur Sikep chose to reject formal education. The purpose of this article is to analyze the cultural-based local education practices that are used to reject formal education in the Sedulur Sikep community. Based on it, the research that is done using the method of research qualitative type of ethnography with the technique of collecting the data in the form of observations, interviews, and documentation. Practice Education locally who applied Sedulur Sikep departing from the preservation of the teachings of the major Sedulur Sikep to teach generation heir to culture on the concept of self that is honest and love for nature. Implementation of education locally is simultaneously in the middle progress of the times sensitize society Sedulur Sikep to make it as a place of organizing education in rural area. Even the rejection of formal education is based on local assessments that are felt to alienate the reality and culture of the Sedulur Sikep community. The emergence of the issue of the construction of a cement factory in the Kendeng Mountains region, adding to the Sedulur Sikep community to strengthen local education by developing its local values. Consistency for the development of education establishes the Omah Kendeng as place education of children and the discussion about the discourse [rejection] development of a cement factory that exists in the area of culture society of Sedulur Sikep.
A majority of fishermen in the coastal areas of Bumi Seribu Nyiur Melambai, East Kalimantan, Indonesia, are migrants from other islands of Indonesia. This paper presents results from a research of the fisherman community. Most of the fisherman came from lower-middle-class families. Both lower-and lower-middle-class fisherman have access to the development program, aids and others resources delivered by government and international corporate. This paper describes how most fisherman see and believe that Bumi Seribu Nyiur Melambai is an area of battle for many actors to upscale their economic and social mobility through accumulation of wealth and social status. Many fishermen express the ambiguity, uncertainty, and marginality of their socialeconomic status. The marginal status is caused by (i) Long Story of Unequal Social Structure; (ii) elite capture of programs and aids (iii) uncertainty and the loss of fishing area due to the presence of the company; (iv) Their technology are not able to resist the change of seasons. Data in this research are collected by qualitative and quantitative method, such as a participatory observation, in-depth interview, FGD, and survey.
