Entrepreneurial activities, especially among rural entrepreneurs has become one of the contributing factors to economic development. Various studies and literature had discussed the factors influencing toward entrepreneurship success which will affect the growth and sustainability of business performance. As the Malaysian economy is affected by covid-19, people can no longer rely on job opportunities. Engaging in entrepreneurial activities is the best way to help improve the economy whether for individuals, families, local communities, or even the country. From that, this study aims to propose a model based on the combination of entrepreneur's characteristics, managerial skills, and external environment factors toward entrepreneurship success in social entrepreneurship among rural entrepreneurs. The outcome of this research will contribute to the development of rural entrepreneurs as well as help them to improve their business performance. Hence, the government transformation program related to entrepreneurship also can be achieved successfully through fulfilling the national key results areas that relate to entrepreneurship nation.
Nurses are critical frontline at a covid-19 pandemic hospital, working around the clock, have exposed to the high risk of infection and in the meantime, they take care of their husband, children, parent, and others at home. They are in the stress working condition that they need to enhance cognitive ability to better coping with stress encountered at covid-19 pandemic hospitals. The present study proposed both the emotionally intelligent and growth mindset simultaneously used to improve nurse's cognitive ability to be better coping with stressful working conditions. Precisely, a study investigates emotional intelligent outcomes of direct and indirect (through the growth mindset) impact better coping with stress working environment. The notion of indirect effect based on positive emotion theory proposed a positive emotion broaden an individual's momentary thought-action repertoire, present study counseled is a growth mindset and the cognitive ability anticipated to produce better coping with stress working environment. Moreover, growing recognition how individuals regulate emotional experiences intriguing present study to investigate the moderating impact of experiential avoidance to the cognitive ability study and coping with stress. To test the idea, data will be collected from nurses at the covid-19 pandemic hospital. To minimize potential common method bias, data will be collected at two points in time separated by a four-week interval. The result of the present study anticipated to become one of the sources of reference for the government to prepare nurses to have a better cognitive ability to manage stress at pandemic hospital. Meanwhile, the contributes to the existing body of knowledge by establishing an unexplored indirect effect of emotional intelligence on coping stress through the mediation of growth mindset. In other words, the present study extends the existing literature on the emotional intelligent outcomes which are currently limited to work engagement, job performance, customer satisfaction, and student achievement. Meanwhile, the experiential avoidance appears to be a resistance factor of particular importance for understanding the phenomenology of coping with stress.
The purpose of this research is to investigate the moderating role of perceived organizational support in the relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance in the context of shift employee. Recently, a number of studies found that emotional intelligent is able to improve employee job performance in organization. However, the generalization does not include shift employees that have different types of issues and challenges; thus, this motivates the researchers to investigate the context. Data were gathered through self-administered questionnaire from 178 shift employees working in various Malaysia's government agencies and private agencies. The data were then analyzed to obtain the result. As hypothesized, job performance is significantly associated with emotional intelligence, and moderated by perceived organizational support. The relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance is stronger when perceived organizational support is high. The result conveys important information to organizations particularly in condition shift working hour. Emotional intelligence is well known for improving employee's job performance, with perceiving organizational support that contributes better job performance particularly for shift employees. The variables have to be simultaneously undertaken to harvest optimum outcome.
