As in last few years, quantum cryptography appears to overcome the current challenges of time and quality of the encryption systems and offer new fields of cryptography. This paper briefly introduces the quantum cryptography from the basic ideas, theoretic foundation, as well as analyses some innovative papers where used quantum theory in the field of cryptography especially for image encryption. Formerly, current work illustrates the accomplishments of quantum cryptography in image encryption methods and its upcoming progress schemes. Conclusively, its motivation to make a general view that represents a new trend in cryptography scheme can be developed on the benefits of the quantum cryptography.
