Climate-smart agricultural practices have been recognized to increase agricultural yield and enhance sustainable food production sustainably. This study examined the climate-smart agricultural practices used by cassava farmers and assessed the benefits obtained from using the climate-smart practices in the study area. The study adopted a two-stage sampling procedure in selecting 120 registered cassava farmers for questionnaire administration. Percentages, frequencies and chi-square were used to analyze the data. 96.8% of the farmers are male and above 60 years of age (41.7%) with household sizes of 5-8. Results indicate that 100% of respondents currently use and adopt different climate-smart agricultural practices for cassava production. Most cassava farmers derived enhanced benefits from using and adopting climate-smart agricultural practices. The chi-square analysis further revealed that the selected socio-economic profile of the respondents, such as education, farming experience, and size of farmland, significantly determined and influenced farmers’ usage and adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices. Based on the discoveries from this study, extension officers and relevant agencies should develop suitable policies that will encourage farmers to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices.

Cultural ecological tourism is a source for the preservation of habitats and species of life. This sector is seen as having the potential to generate job opportunities and income for indigenous communities, especially the Orang Asli of the Batek tribe who live around the Kuala Tahan National Park. The main objective of this paper is to discuss strategies to empower the involvement of indigenous communities in cultural ecological tourism in Kuala Tahan National Park. The study was conducted in six Batek settlements by adopting qualitative methods. Data was collected by the application of participatory observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Data was coordinated and analyzed using QSR Nvivo software. The findings of the study show that various strategies can be applied to empowering the Batek people's involvement in cultural ecological tourism such as the cooperation of all parties including government agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations, universities, and tourism companies. Empowerment strategies can also be applied by applying an integrated approach, which is the amalgamation of ecological, and cultural tourism with other economic activities in addition to improving the delivery of quality tourism products and services.

In the centrepiece of academic discourse, the concept or issue of sustainability leads by the nose. The continuous use of resources will shore up human life and sustenance. As such, sustainability is wrapped around social progress, economic balance, and environmental stewardship aligned with natural resources. Also, on the ground that, for instance, the sustainability of flora resources is an ultimate mechanism to conserve, protect and maintain biological resources. Within this purview and ambience, this paper examines distinct strategies and measures towards achieving sustainable floral resources. These strategies include incorporating the local community; participatory approach of the local community in conservation; authentication of aboriginal knowledge; establishment of a sustainable resource field, and; dissemination capacity building and training, all in the direction of achieving sustainable use of local flora resources. Based on the identified blueprints to attain sustainability, the paper further highlights the leeway of flora resources sustainability in that not only does food security, livelihoods and medicines of the aboriginal hinge on it. It portrays the degree and quality of the environment, but floral resources are an undaunted ample approach when it has to do with environmental compensation and socioeconomic development.
