Many organizations have embraced the notion to operate effectively in today's competitive climate as it is critical for them to become a knowledge-based organization, which is one where the focus is consistently on ways to help their stakeholders learn and develop new knowledge. The United States system of higher education and knowledge-based organizations have been vital to the economic development of the United States because of their capacities to generate and distribute knowledge and the growth of online learning has been a driving force behind the growth of new processes and approaches. This article looks at those trends through an exploration of the literature. The purpose is to inform and explore the current and future directions of e-learning in knowledge-based organizations and academic institutions.
This study will explore an innovative approach to cybersecurity workforce development in low income, minority, and Native American reservation communities in a way that could address low living wages and high unemployment while meeting cyber workforce demands. In the efforts to build a robust talent pipeline, there is a critical need for innovative practices to educate the future cyber professions in underserved diverse communities. Systemically, diverse communities have been untapped, ignored, and undervalued for technical job opportunities. This study looks at using charter schools with minority demographics that should have advanced technology programs that address a colossal workforce development need in the U.S. by training future cyber professionals on the high school level.
Australia's path to innovation began with the very early use of tools and cultivation by aboriginal communities. With the arrival of Europeans from 1788, innovation focused on supporting agricultural production and mineral extraction. More recently, Australian innovation has extended to include high technology products such as the Cochlea Ear and the production of plastic bank notes, developed through a strong foundation in fundamental science. Looking to the future, Australia has greatly expanded its international cooperation. Bibliometric data show strong growth in collaborative chemical research papers between chemists in Australia and those in China, greatly exceeding those with Japan and India, the next strongest partners in collaboration. The most productive areas of chemistry for international collaboration are physical chemistry and chemical engineering. Concerning Pakistan, bibliometric data show a dramatic growth in collaboration between Australian and Pakistani scientists. Data analysis support the benefits of international collaboration.
Cyber marketing, digital communications, and social media practices for branding and marketing purposes have allowed colleges and universities to engage in sustainable/green marketing. For colleges, this means reducing advertising, marketing, and promotions costs in conjunction with lessening previous environmental impacts of printing, paper waste, mailing brochures, and college recruiter travel and transportation. Digital economy innovations in cyber marketing create channels for advertising and promotion without the carbon footprint issues of previous recruiting approaches. This paper uses a content analysis of the literature to explore how sustainable marketing approaches apply digital economy innovations in cyber marketing and digital communications for student global student marketing and recruiting. The goal is to gain actionable and applied knowledge about how sustainable marketing strategies apply digital economy innovations in cyber marketing and digital communication can influence the world of practice.
