This paper presents MVEVE (Modular Visual Environment for Visual Effects), a visual programming environment for creating new visual effects. For intuitive visual programming, MVEVE has several high-level data types, e.g, Im-ageList and 3DObjectList. Processing modules in MVEVE has input and output ports of these data types, and typically performs image/video processings. Users connect input and output ports among modules, and then create new visual effects easier than conventional textural programming. Sample effects of afterimages, speedlines, and particles are presented in the paper.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
