Recent reports on the extra skeletal effects of vitamin D deficiency or insufficeicnny of vitamin D are increasing. It has been associated with autoimmunity, systemic lupus erythrematosus (SLE), psoriasis, diabetes mellitus, multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease, hypertension, dental caries, psychological disorders such as depression and Schizophrenia, cardiovascular disorders, many common cancers [6,19,[23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35] and others.
