The renormalized charge in noncompact lattice QED with staggered fermions is calculated using simulation data for ( W y ) and (F$) as input. One outcome is that the charge vanishes in the infinite-cutoff limit for all values of the bare charge up to and including the chiral-phasetransition point. The analysis suggests that the scaling region of the latter is describable by an effective action containing Yukawa as well as gauge interactions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
