Abstract. This paper describes the process followed to assess the performance of Smart Metering PLC networks based on PRIME specification. This process is composed of a monitoring phase dedicated to obtain data from the network (Communication level and Application level), and an analysis phase which produces a standardized report for each Secondary Substation with the relevant performance data correlated with electricity grid information. The paper includes also a section identifying different specific abnormal behaviours in PLC Smart Meters, working in the grid.
