Criminological problems of human trafficking have been considered in this article. The authors have provided insight into the problematic issues that pertain to the criminological aspects of this socio-legal phenomenon. Human trafficking is a dynamic phenomenon that easily adapts to changing conditions. Traditionally, human trafficking has the nature of organised crime. A variety of diverse causes and conditions lead to human trafficking. Globalisation of social and economic processes is one of the driving forces of human trafficking. Thus, measures to prevent trafficking in human beings must have an impact on broad segments of society.
Modern society is characterized by dramatic climate changes and environment changes. There is an intensive use of natural resources and an increase in environmental pollution. The legal framework and its continuous development are essential for the protection of the environment and its sustainable development. The legal framework is a tool for identification and prevention of natural pollution sources, the prevention of environmental threats to the health of the population and the improvement of the quality of life of people in general. The volume of environmental legislation has increased significantly in recent years, but shortcomings in its implementation and enforcement are not sufficient to address environmental issues. The world community has relatively little knowledge of the potential for improving the legal regulation to strengthen environmental security by addressing global environmental risks.

Ģimenes kriminoloģiskie komponenti no šāda skatupunkta līdz šim Latvij ā nav aplūkoti. Not less binding and with an innovative approach is Aldona Kipāne’s analytical article about the ground-breaking elements in criminology in Latvia, where she provides a detailed comparison of criminology and family aspects. Family criminological components have never been addressed through such a prism in the Republic of Latvia.
