The article describes the conception of a new branch in criminological science - narcocriminology which studies the regularities and interconnections of crime and illegal consumption of narcotic means and psychotropic substances.

The Article is devoted to the famous scientist professor Sal’nikov Viktor Petrovich and his works on the drug crimes countermeasures. It contains information about this scientist, his personal papers and research studies on the drug theme carried out under his supervision, including dissertation ones. It highlights the comprehensive approach to the study of legal issues and rights in general, used by V.P. Sal’nikov, including the study of issues of counteraction to drug-related crimes.
