Construction of pre-stressed concrete (PSC) structures is becoming a common practice in various parts of the world, because of its better stability, serviceability, economy, aesthetic appearance and structural efficiency. Post tensioning is a method of reinforcing concrete or other materials with high strength steel strands or bars, typically referred to as tendons. The provision of large openings in pre-stressed concrete beams is necessary to accommodate utility services in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. A post tensioned I-beam is analyzed by using ANSYS software and the deformation and stress pattern of beam is studied for different parametric conditions by changing the position of opening and different shapes of openings.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
