Having timely information about the combat situation is crucial both in conducting military operations of various scales and in training personnel. The level of complexity of existing military command and control systems is limited to visualization, primarily using tactical symbols. The current state of information and computer technologies allows achieving a qualitative leap in the level of perception with the application of "augmented reality." Peer-topeer information technology enhances cognitive ability by adding additional, meaningful graphical and text information to a real-time image. Saturation with high-performance mobile devices and the powerful entry of wireless digital networks into the military activity makes it possible to use the technology to the level of an individual fighter on the battlefield. In this article, the authors reflect on the peculiarities of applying augmented reality visualization in the performance of tactical tasks, determining appropriate methods for integrating visual and texts information, offering a model of information interaction with an augmented reality application. They propose a software architecture of a specialized mobile application and present the results of its practical implementation.
The paper discusses the progress in the automation of the detection of flare stars through astronomical observations with plates obtained by the multi-exposure “chain” method. In spite of the fact that the astronomical plate observations are considered obsolete in modern astronomy, the computer processing of these images is an actual problem, due to the considerable number of wide-field plates in our country, in Europe and throughout the world. The solution of the problem is implemented in a sequence of three stages: (i) detection of the form of the chains, (ii) location of the chains in the input plate image and (iii) detection of chains representing “flare stars”. The paper is focused on the second stage, the implementation of which requires the use of Hough transform (HT). A theoretical and experimental analysis of the suggested approach connected with HT is presented. The “bottlenecks” in the development are discussed on the basis of a comparative analysis with a competitive approach - the “cumulative” statistic approach to chains in the given image. At the end, a combined approach is offered, uniting the various advantages, but again based on HT. Some experimental results and illustrations are presented. The perspectives for future work, connected with an implementation of a whole software system designed to solve the problem, are described.
In this article the authors discuss some computer security mechanisms and their hardware realization and provide an overview of well-known cybersecurity software solutions. The authors provide data on hardware platforms and explore the possibility to use cheap microdevices for honeypots. The technological and information possibilities for the development of a honeypot network using a modern micro-controller based device are analyzed. The authors focus on the key features of selected devices, describing in detail the conditions by the experiment. The main experimental results are presented in graphical and tabular form. Conclusions are made about the applicability of micro-controller devices for cybersecurity purposes with the application of wireless connectivity and the provision of data about malicious actions over the Internet of Things systems.
