The spread of digital innovation in the world began in the 1960s. and the first stage came down to the automation of technologies and processes. The next stage came in the mid-90s. and is associated with the global spread of the Internet and mobile communications, the extensive penetration of innovation into society. The current stage of innovatiоndriven development is characterized by the expansion of Internet access of millions of consumers, the integration of wide range of digital services, products, systems into the digital socio-ecological and economic system. The ongoing revolutionary changes deserve additional understanding and analysis, since they give to many countries such impetus for rapid growth that they change the very paradigm of development, and force them to measure and evaluate the life quality in a new way. In the context of problems covered in this article, it is especially relevant to conduct a causal analysis of digital transformation against the background of global transformations of the world economy. In the process of analyzing innovation as a tool for the development of public production, the authors identified the drivers of digital economy, determined their role at the present stage, and showed their distinctive aspects and features.
This article is dedicated to the research of innovation processes at the regional level. There patterns of innovation processes and innovation activity applying modern management approach are considered. There dynamics analysis of such regional innovation activity indicators as number of organizations that perform the research; technology innovations cost; research and development inner cost; investment in equity; volume shipped innovation products is made based on statistic data. As an example of nature of the impact of these indicators to innovation environment of the region, the authors used the economic data of Saint Petersburg city. Additionally, there dynamics of analysing indicators is established, the reasons of their increase and decrease in the various time periods under the influence of political and external-economic factors is detected. In summary, the conclusion on current intensification of innovation processes in Saint Petersburg that reflects on both innovation activity data and territorial infrastructure, is made. The common tendency to increase the region innovation activity exists, despite the decrease of the number of organisations that perform researches and developments. These findings, achieved based on completed research, can be used to forecast the region innovation activity level, as well as for optimization of innovative activity indicators of the companies.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of idle reduction technologies (IRTs) in reducing driver exposure to diesel exhaust, and to study the cost effectiveness of these technologies. IRTs are devices that provide heating and cooling to the cabin of a truck without idling the truck engine. The focus was on diesel-powered IRTs (auxiliary power units and fuel-operated heaters), and their impact on particulate matter (PM2.5) exposure of drivers sleeping or resting in the truck’s cabin. The focus was on diesel-powered IRTs as these devices generate their own emissions, potentially exacerbating in-cab exposure levels. The project involved initial field data collection at truck stops in the states of Georgia, Texas and California. This was followed by laboratory testing in an environmentally controlled test chamber on a sample of trucks, with and without the use of IRTs. The study findings showed that the use of IRTs resulted in a significant reduction of PM2.5 levels in the truck cabin when compared with the baseline scenario of a truck parked with the engine off and the doors and windows closed. Idling the truck engine and running the air conditioning system was also found to reduce in-cabin PM2.5 levels relative to the baseline. The study supports the premise that IRTs reduce driver exposure to diesel exhaust. Additionally, it was found that these devices are cost effective in that they all have payback periods of less than five years, making them viable alternatives to idling the truck engine during long-duration rest periods.
Research background: Analytical research is needed to manage innovation development, which is the relevant background of this work. Purpose of the article: The aim of this study is to analyse and evaluate the use of innovative creative technologies to create added value in the face of globalization change. The aim of the study is to compare the dynamics of innovative creative development of Russia and the world leaders. Methods: The Global Innovation Index (GII-2020) is used as a scientific and methodological approach to monitoring and analysing the level of innovative creative processes, based on the study of available statistical sources and studies conducted by Cornell University, INSEAD and WIPO. Findings & Value added: At present, in the conditions of the global crisis and the strengthening of economic sanctions against Russia by the United States and the European Union, the innovative direction of the economic policy of the state is of paramount importance. This is because advances in innovative technologies, more than ever, determine the dynamics of economic growth, the level of well-being of the population. Global innovation indices create an area of research in which innovative factors, including creative activity, are under constant evaluation. This assessment is a key tool for making a decision to improve the development of modern business processes and to determine strategically the priority of the development vectors in the future in order to strengthen the country’s economic position and competitiveness in the face of globalization.
The article deals with the application of distributed ledger technologies in the material, information and financial flows of companies. The ability of the company to integrate and cooperate, to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes when using blockchain technologies is substantiated. The factors affecting the stability of the supply chain are studied, the advantages and disadvantages of the implementation of systems based on the design of architecture and the creation of flowcharts for analyzing the suitability of applications for control systems for product promotion are highlighted. It explores the relationship between buyer-supplier relationships in cross-border e-commerce and the benefits of successful implementations of blockchain solutions in an interorganizational supply chain environment.
