RESUMO.O Estado do Pará (PA) é o segundo maior produtor de leite da Região Norte do Brasil, sendo de grande importância para a agricultura familiar regional. Objetivou-se com este estudo caracterizar os sistemas de produção de leite e o perfil socioeconômico dos produtores da Região do Lago de Tucuruí, PA. Realizou-se um estudo quantitativo, baseado na aplicação de questionários a 66 produtores, entre os meses junho e setembro de 2015, cujos dados foram avaliados por meio de estatística descritiva. Os resultados indicaram que a maioria dos sistemas de produção são extensivos, baseados na utilização do pasto como principal recurso nutricional. Os produtores avaliados apresentaram baixo nível de escolaridade, a assistência técnica é escassa e há pouco emprego de tecnologias para prevenção de doenças animais.Palavras chaves: bioma amazônico, produtores rurais, socioeconômico Characterization of production systems and milk producers in the lake region of Tucuruí, Pará, BrazilABSTRACT. The State of Pará (PA) is the second largest milk producer in the North Region of Brazil, being of great importance for regional family agriculture. The objective of this study was to characterize the milk production systems and the socioeconomic profile of the producers of the Lake Region of Tucuruí, PA. A quantitative study was carried out, based on the application of questionnaires to 66 producers, between June and September 2015, whose data were evaluated by means of descriptive statistics. The results indicated that most of the production systems are extensive, based on the use of pasture as the main nutritional resource. The evaluated producers had low level of schooling, technical assistance is scarce and there is little use of technologies for the prevention of animal diseases.
