The article presents calculations and recommendations for fisheries development and improvement of fish productivity of riverbed ponds of the Azov-Kuban plain on the example of the Kirpili river. We studied the taxonomic composition and calculated the biomass of the natural fish food base of the studied reservoirs, which includes: phytoplankton-383.5±0.24 kg / ha; zooplankton-86.8±1.14 kg/ha; zoobenthos – 28.7±1.30 kg/ha, macrophytes – from 10 to 45 kg / m2. The species composition of the Kirpili river ichthyofauna includes 11 species of fish. With the aim of pasture aquaculture stocking of channel ponds lowland rivers it is necessary to produce fingerlings Hypophthalmichthys molitrix, Hypophthalmichthys nobilis, Ctenopharyngodon idella, and as addition Cyprinus carpio, Mylopharyngodon piceus, Liza haematocheila, Polyodon spathula, etc.) individual weight below 25-30 g, which will allow you to fish more 1350,0 kg/ha.

The article provides calculations and recommendations for fisheries development and improvement of fish productivity of reservoirs in the Kuban basin. The taxonomic composition of water biological resources has been studied and the natural bio-production potential of some reservoirs in the South of Russia has been determined. It is proposed for the purpose of pastoral aquaculture to produce directed formation of the ichthyofauna of reservoirs by yearlings Hypophthalmichthys molitrix, Hypophthalmichthys nobilis, Ctenopharyngodon idella, and as anaddition Cyprinus carpio, Mylopharyngodon piceus, Liza haematocheila with an individual mass not less than 25-30 g, which will allow rational use of forage resources of aquatic ecosystems.

The Department of aquatic bioresources and aquaculture of Kuban state University trains students in the direction of 35.03.08 Aquatic bioresources and aquaculture (bachelor's degree), profiles Ichthyology and Aquaculture; 35.04.07 Aquatic bioresources and aquaculture (master's degree), orientation (profile) Ichthyology; 06.06.01 Biological Sciences (training of highly qualified personnel), profile 03.02.06 Ichthyology. An integral feature of a trained specialist, whose qualifications meet the current labor market conditions, is the acquisition of a set of research competencies in the field of fisheries science and production. The increasing inclusion of the research approach in the period of training, production practices and implementation of specialized disciplines, together with the educational approach, allows students to develop the necessary intellectual and creative thinking of students. Individual students with their works became winners and prize-winners in the all-Russian competition of the Final qualifying work’s in the field of Aquatic bioresources and aquaculture.

The paper contains information about the current state of the fishing industry of the Krasnodar territory, the resource base of which is industrial fishing and aquaculture, which is represented by various categories of farms (pond, cage, basin, mariculture). Detailed data on the production of aquaculture products for various categories of farms in the Krasnodar territory are provided. The most developed areas are pasture and pond fish farming, accounting for more than 90% of the region's commercial aquaculture products. The main cultivated objects are various breeds of carp (carp) (Cyprinus carpio), white carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix), mottled carp (Hypophthalmichthys nobilis) and white Cupid (Ctenopharyngodon idella). The characteristic of the mariculture of the region is given. The results of industrial fishing in the Azov-Black sea basin are considered. The contribution of the fishing industry of the Krasnodar territory to the country's food security is determined.
