The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of the base sector and non-base sectors on economic growth in Maluku Province in 2011-2017. The analytical method used the data panel regression analysis model, and to determine the significance level of each regression coefficient of the independent variable on the dependent variable, the statistical test is used. This study also uses Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) analysis. The analysis shows that each region tends to show differences in the potential of its economic sectors. Because of the different contributions of each economic sector in different regions, the sectors that are superior in a region are relatively different from other regions. The results of the analysis also show that the base sector variable and the non-base sector have a significant positive effect on economic growth in the Regency / City of Maluku Province.

The dependent variable in this study is Unemployment while the independent variables are Economic Growth, Minimum Wage, and Human Development Index. The analytical method used in this research is the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The results showed that the variable economic growth had a positive and significant impact on the unemployment rate in the short and long term. The minimum wage variable and the human development index variable in the short and long term respectively have a negative and insignificant impact. Moreover, This research provides good and appropriate information for academics and the government to be able to reduce the problem of unemployment in Indonesia by using an economic and social approach.
Equitable distribution of development results in various regions has become a new paradigm in current national development policies. However, in reality, inequalities in development between regions, both between provinces and regions, are still encountered. This study aims to map the economic development between regions in Indonesia. Referring to the amount of GRDP in each province and region, there is a huge difference. Provinces which are located in Java Island, have a large GRDP contribution to GDP. This means that the Indonesian economy is still concentrated in these areas.
This study examines women’s activities which include production and reproduction activities in several economic sectors as a source of livelihood for the women in negeri Booi community. This study was done in a qualitative manner with a phenomenological approach, integrated with an institutional economic perspective in negeri Booi, Saparua island, Central Maluku. The key informants participated in this study were women who collected nutmeg, owners of dusung (garden), and saniri negeri (village government). The data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations and documentation. The results show that the activities done by the rural women in an effort to meet their household needs were production, reproduction, and access and control of resources. Further, local wisdom or tradition also played an important role in carrying out these activities, including bapilih tradition. It was a dominant factor influencing the efforts to meet the women’s household needs in negeri Booi. In addition, the bapilih tradition was also an effort of the negeri Booi community to save the poor from unsafe to safe conditions which were motivated by the tradition. Apart from being a “buffer”, the bapilihtradition had been an “informal insurance” for the women in negeri Booi to be able to carry out the activities to meet their household needs although the dusung was not theirs.
