Synopsis'retramethylguanidine and heptamethylisobiguanide have been shown to be catalysts for the cure of epoxy resins. The reagents were effective when used in very small concentrations. Their reactivity is postulated to be a result of their several accessible tertiary amine nitrogen atoms, high base strength, and good solvent powers.
