The aim of this research is to analyze the curriculum evaluation PhD dissertations in Turkey according to different variables and present the current situation. The Research is important in terms of helping to identify tendencies in this area and to monitor progress through setting out the current situation in the area of curriculum evaluation. In this research, PhD dissertations on curriculum evaluation which were written in Curriculum and Instruction Departments in universities in Turkey were examined by document analysis. Curriculum evaluation PhD dissertations made in Curriculum and Instruction Departments in universities in Turkey during 1996-2017 were included in this research. In the analysis of the dissertations included in this research, content analysis was applied. It was seen that the analyzed PhD dissertations are accepted between 1996-2017. It is also clear that the curriculum evaluation PhD dissertations have been made more since 1998 when undergraduate programs in CI were closed. The fact that subjects of many of the curriculum evaluation PhD dissertations include the formal education subjects, has led to the classification of the subjects as the evaluation of the formal education curricula and the evaluation of the non-formal education curricula. It was seen that approximately all of PhD dissertations were listed under the heading of evaluation of the formal education curricula. It was seen that the dissertations were made mostly in Ankara. As a result of that some of the dissertations include places as far as possible in Turkey, the number of provinces where theses have been increased. The majority of participants of the dissertations consisted of individuals from higher education institutions, which provided a high proportion of participants with a university level of education.
High-quality manpower is needed greatly in development process. A successful and qualified postgraduate education is rather important for especially underdeveloped and developing countries in order to raise this manpower that is highly needed. Due to these reasons, there is a need for giving importance to postgraduate education and solving the problems in the field (Sevinç, 2001). In this study, it is aimed to determine the problems that the individuals studying postgraduate education at Institute of Education Sciences encounter and to offer solutions concerning the problems encountered. In this study, qualitative research method and phenomenological research was used. The participants studied postgraduate education in different majors and departments in the Institute of Education Sciences at a state university Data of the study was collected with semi-structured interview schedule designed by the researchers. The data collected in the study were analyzed by content analysis technique. The study findings revealed that postgraduate students had mainly problems of foreign language and Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES), problems of getting permission from their institution or school, communication problem with thesis supervisor and problem of toilsomeness of thesis writing process. In the conclusion section, recommendations regarding the problems encountered by students in postgraduate education are made. Bu nedenlerden dolayı lisansüstü eğitime gereken önemin verilip, alandaki sorunların da çözülmesi gerekmektedir (Sevinç, 2001). Bu araştırmada, eğitim bilimleri enstitüsünde lisansüstü eğitim gören bireylerin yaşadıkları sorunların belirlenmesi ve yaşanan sorunlara ilişkin çözüm önerilerinin oluşturulması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada nitel yöntem ve olgu bilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu bir devlet üniversitesi enstitüsünde farklı bölüm ve anabilim dallarında lisansüstü eğitim gören, katılımcılar oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri, araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde içerik analizi yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın başlıca bulgularından elde edilen sonuçlara göre; öğrenciler yabancı dil ve ALES sorunu, çalıştıkları kurumlardan izin alamama sorunu, tez danışmanı ile iletişim sorunu ve tez yazma sürecinin yoruculuğu sorunu konularında görüşlerini dile getirmişlerdir. Sonuç bölümünde, lisansüstü eğitimde öğrencilerin karşılaştıkları sorunlara yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur. The aim of this study is to identify the opinions of the novice teachers about the problems experienced during the induction process and the fields of training needed to overcome these problems so as to contribute to the their professional development. This study was conducted with survey research model and the study group consisted of 812 novice teachers. As a result of the research, it was determined that the novice teachers mostly thought that they would not have problems. In addition, It was found out that they believed that individuals taking part in the education process of the novice teacher training the tasks undertaken and the aims of the education process were appropriate. They believed that there six months extention of their nomination starting from September, having them prepare files should be abolished. In line with the results of study, It was proposed to conduct the process of novice teacher education in the place of duty, provide the documents online, and to evaluate the supervisor teachers and school administrators as well.
ABSTRACT. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the primary school first grade Life Studies Teachers' Supplementary Book and Student Books prepared by Ministry of National Education (MoNE) according to some criteria. Experts' opinions from different areas in Faculty of Educational Sciences were taken by a group of 21 people. The research data was analyzed by document analysis. The results showed that there were many language and expression problems, some expressions and visuals in student books were not appropriate for the target group's developmental level and there were some negative hidden messages. Also, it was found that some activities and visuals were not appropriate in terms of learning and teaching theories. These results should be taken into consideration by MoNE.
The "museum education'', which has been on the agenda in Turkey since 1990, was formalized along with the developments in museum approaches of Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the efforts of Ministry of National Education, Board of Education for integrating the museums with training. This study was focused on the evaluation process of museum education program carried out by the Museum Education Volunteers of Association for Supporting Contemporary Life (CYDD) in the school and at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations with 4 th graders in Ankara. The program, which was developed in 2014, carried out between 2014-2017 and reached to 985 students in total, was prepared with the aim of determining the quality of education given to voluntary museum educators and the levels of attaining the goals. The program indicated that the participants had knowledge about museum and museum education and their basic knowledge increased along with the education. The views of participants indicated that the program achievements and content were in conformity with the expectations and needs of participants; the findings concerning learning-teaching process demonstrated that the education program was successful.
