A rare case of an adult male with malformation of the skull, face, hands and feet called acrocephalosyndactly or Apert syndrome is presented. Its probable cause, features and treatment is discussed. It is a unique case who survived upto the age of 32 years without any operative intervention and adjusted in the society though he has all the stigmas of the above syndrome. We have concluded and made a point that in the adult sufferer, facial deformity is not so important and urgent for the treatment than syndactyly, which handicaps the sufferer in performing the daily routine work.
A rare congenital anomaly of extra hepatic biliary tract is presented. Its embryology and treatment is discussed. It is concluded that every abdominal surgeon should be aware of such extra hepatic anomaly in detail to avoid prolonged drainage of bile from the drainage tube, even death after cholecystectomy1.
A 25 years old unmarried woman was operated for a huge fungating tumor of right breast, proved to be a benign phyllodes tumor by preoperative and post-operative biopsy by two different renowned histopathology laboratories. Simple mastectomy with excision of wide margin of skin and pectoral major was done. She is followed up for 10 months; she has a good scar and no sign of any secondary so far.
ABSTRACT… Objectives: To find out the prevalence of surgical disease in rural areas of Pakistan. Place and Duration: All the surgical cases registered in Foundation Hospital Rajana District Toba Tek Singh in 2012-2013. Methods: The whole data is analyzed by SSPS and compared with the other studies of Pakistan and world. Results and Conclusion: Male and female are equal in number in Total 7788 cases excluding non-surgical cases between 1 day to above 70 years age. Majority of the cases were between 21-50 years age group. Common cause was Trauma, commonest disease was L.B.A and commonest operation was for Hernia and Gallbladder stones.
