The aims of this study were to investigate whether there is a correlation between Self-Confidence with EFL students’ speaking achievement. The participants of this study were the Undergraduate EFL Students of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. purpose. The participants that were chosen can meet certain criteria from this study. In this study, the student’s self-confidence and their speaking achievement are correlated. Therefore, in order to know the students’ speaking achievement, a group of students who had already taken the informal speaking courses from the population were considered as the sample. Nonetheless, most of the third semester students have already finished the informal speaking class on last semester and they are on the next level of speaking class on this semester. Quantitative method was used in this study. The data gained from self-confidence questionnaire and the list of students’ speaking achievement was analyzed by using SPSS. The result of the study showed that there is no significant correlation and there is no significance influence between self-confidence of the undergraduate EFL students with their speaking achievement. The researchers of this study recommends other researchers to make sure the respondents are in well condition such as feeling comfortable while taking the data. Furthermore, it is recommended that other researchers to do and to extend more variables in order to reveal any aspects that can support and enhance the quality of researches in speaking skill.

In addition, the tax compliance of the taxpayers in the DJP performance report shows a low percentage, even though taxpayers are expected to increase state revenue. There are many taxpayers who tax taxes illegally. So the question arises about how taxpayers' ethics taxation. The purpose of this research was to 1) identify teachers' perspectives on incorporating HOTS into EFL classes for primary school students and 2) discover the challenges faced by the teachers during the implementation of HOTS based learning. This study used an embedded mixed technique. The quantitative data were acquired by giving one set of closed-response questionnaire items to 39 English teachers teaching English in elementary schools in Palembang, Indonesia. Meanwhile, qualitative data were gathered through one-on-one in-depth interviews with ten English teachers who agreed to be interviewed. The descriptive statistics analysis was used to assess the students' replies to each questionnaire item. Meanwhile, thematic analysis was used to assess the qualitative data gleaned from the interviews. The statistical study revealed that first, Teachers expressed their positive experiences implementing HOTSbased learning in EFL classes for elementary school students. Second, there are five impediments that instructors encountered while applying HOTS-based learning for primary school children; 1) time limitations; 2) supplementing HOTS-based learning resources; 3) selecting an effective teaching strategy to elicit students' HOTS; 4) selecting an effective teaching technique to elicit students' HOTS; 5) Mixed ability of students and 6) Big class size
This study aims to investigate teachers’ and students’ awareness on elementary schools students’ English handbook in terms of the students’ need and interest. It was a survey research involving 5 teachers of English and also 120 fifth grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri II Palembang. A likert scale questionnaire was distributed as the instrument which was validated and tried out to determine the rigor of the instrument. The data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The finding revealed that dealing with elementary schools students English handbook, the teachers tended to disagree that that it was designed based on childrens’ need and interest at the aspect of teaching material, but they agreed that the English handbook fulfilled students’ need and interest in terms of teaching and learning process. Then, students tended to agree that their English handbook fulfil their need and interest. Teachers tended to agree that they need to do some adaptation when using the handbook. Dealing with expectation, teachers tended to strongly disagree that there should be both evaluation and improvement given by the government related to the use of the elementary schools students’ English handbook. In contrast, children tended to agree that government should evaluate and improve the use of elementary schools students English handbook.
The aims of this study were to find out investigate what EFL teachers do to developing their pedagogical competence in teaching implementation. The participants of this study were English teachers in SMP Xaverius 3 Palembang. Qualitative method was used in this study. The data gained from interview was analyzed by using thematic analysis. The study applied purposive sampling. The result of the study showed that the English teachers join some activities and programs as the efforts of developing their pedagogical competence. To increase the knowledge of classroom management, teachers usually did induction programs. Teachers also should join many kind of seminars, workshops, short courses or teacher trainings related to teaching in order to develop their knowledge of teaching methods. Teachers can develop their knowledge of classroom assessment by joining seminars, workshop, reading books or articles, watching youtube, and using other platforms. Lesson study activities are used by teachers to help them making lesson plan.
