The essential oils obtained from the dried leaves and flowers of Phlomis herba-venti L. subsp. pungens (Willd.) Maire ex De Fillipps and subsp. lenkoranica (Knorring) Rech. f. (Labiatae) were analyzed using GC and GC/MS. Twenty-four components were identified in the leaf oil of subsp. pungens with germacrene D (31.1%), T-muurolol (11%) and α-pinene (7.1%) as main constituents. Twenty-six compounds were identified in the flower oil of subsp. pungens with germacrene D (39.2%), α-pinene (9.3%) and 2-pentadecanone (7.6%) as main components. Twentynine compounds were characterized in the leaf oil of subsp. lenkoranica with germacrene D (45.9%), α-pinene (10%) and α-copaene (3.2%) as main components. In the flower oil of subsp. lenkoranica, however, the major components among the 25 constituents identified were germacrene D (36.6%), α-pinene (21.3%) and β-bourbonene (5.9%). All oils consisted of monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes and aliphatic compounds.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
