This study was conducted because of the low level of students’ reading skill. The reading strategies and the reading frequencies were assumed as the factors affecting students’ reading skill. The aim of this study was to describe and to analyze the contribution of reading strategies and reading frequencies toward students’ reading comprehension skill. This study used the quantitative method with the descriptive correlational design. The population was 3000 students who attended Bahasa Indonesia subject in Universitas Negeri Padang, and 353 students were taken as samples by using proportional stratified random sampling. The instruments of this study were reading strategies scale, reading frequencies scale and a reading comprehension test which has been valid and reliable. Based on research findings and discussion, the following can be concluded: (1) reading strategies contributed significance and positively to the students' comprehension reading skill which is 19.6% (R = 0.443 R2 = 0.196 and p = 0.000), i.e. reading strategies contributed directly toward the skills of reading comprehension. Therefore, the higher the reading strategies, the better the reading comprehension skills of the students; (2) reading strategies contributed significance toward the students' reading comprehension skills of 33.1% (R = 0.575 R2 = 0.331 and p = 0.000), i.e. reading frequencies contributed directly to reading comprehension skills. Therefore, the better the reading frequencies, the better the reading comprehension skills of the students; (3) reading strategies and the reading frequencies together contributed significance toward the students' reading comprehension skills of 33.2% (R = 0.575, R2 = 0.332 and p = 0.000), i.e. reading strategies and reading frequencies together contributed directly to the comprehension reading skill. Therefore, the higher the reading strategies and reading frequencies will be the better the reading comprehension skill of the students.
The purpose of this study were. (1)to describe the accuracy of diction in the news text of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 6 Pariaman. (2)to describe the precision of diction in the news text of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 6 Pariaman. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. This research was conducted at Pariaman State Middle School 6. The data of this study are qualitative data in the form of news text diction. The source of this research data is text news writing for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 6 Pariaman. The instrument of this research is the researchers themselves. The technique of collecting data is through documentation studies. The technique of validating the data in this study is the cross-check technique. The data are analyzed by steps, namely (1) the researcher identifies the diction contained in the news text, (2) analyzes the text based on the aspects studied, (3) analyzes the data based on the exact and accurate inaccuracies, and (4) makes conclusion. The result showed that: (1) there was not the contribution of national examination score Indonesian Languange in high school toward students reading comprehension skill; (2) there was the contribution of reading strategies toward students reading comprehension skill; (3) there was the contribution of national examination score Indonesian Languange in high school and reading strategies toward students reading comprehension skill.
The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of reading strategy and speed reading on students reading comprehension skill. The population were 4996 students. Further, 370 students were selected using the technique proportional stratified random sampling. The instrument of this study were a Likert scale questionnaire and reading comprehension. The data obtained have been analyzed by simple regresions and multiple regresions. The result was the effects reading strategies and speed reading on reading is and positive and significance in reading comprehensions skill.The results of this study show that (1) there is a effect contribution to the reading strategies toward reading comprehension skills by 24,2% (sig. 0,000), (2) there is a contribution of the speed reading toward reading comprehension skills by 30,7% (sig. 0,000, and (3) there is a contribution of the reading strategies and speed reading on the students' reading comprehension skills by 18,85% (sig. 0,000).
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana perancangan model E-LKPD berbasis discovery learning, bagaimana mengembangkan E-LKPD berbasis discovery learning, dan menganalisis kelayakan E-LKPD berbasis discovery learning pada materi teks negosiasi untuk dikembangkan SMA Negeri 1 Sarolangun. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan yang mengadopsi pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Developmet, Disseminate) dengan modifikasi, tanpa tahap disseminate (penyebaran). Langkah penelitian dan pengembangan tersebut yaitu Identifikasi dan analisis masalah, perancangan, pengembangan, dan validasi produk. Instrument penelitian berupa lembar wawancara guru, angket analisis kebutuhan siswa, lembar validasi ahli materi, ahli media yang dianalisis menggunakan skala likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) telah dirancang E-LKPD berbasis discovery learning dengan pengembangan pada aspek materi teks negosiasi, (2) setelah dilakukan perancangan maka selanjutnya dikembangkan E-LKPD berbasis discovery learning pada materi teks negosiasi melalui palatform liveworksheets, (3) kelayakan pengembangan E-LKPD berbasis discovery learning yang dinilai oleh ahli materi berada pada kategori sangat valid (91,2%) atau dinyatakan layak untuk digunakan dan menurut ahli media E-LKPD yang dikembangkan berada dalam kategori valid (87,5%) atau dinyatakan layak digunakan. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa E-LKPD berbasis discovery learning dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran di SMA
