The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the imposition of certain changes in the management of organizations and in the behavior and actions of employees. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic effects on employees’ health and mental well-being, as well as on their working performance. Moreover, the paper aims to highlight whether health- and work-related stress factors mediate the above relations. For the purpose of data collection, a structured questionnaire was used. The first results of the study showed that the pandemic effects felt by employees did not directly affect their mental and physical well-being. On the other hand, the COVID-19 pandemic effects felt by employees affected their general work performance. The findings of the study may provide a useful perspective for organizations and their employees in order to adopt the most effective measures to minimize the effects generated by the pandemic.
A good health system is essential for any country to achieve its social, economic, and political goals and to ensure that all citizens have the opportunity to lead healthy and productive lives. A country’s healthcare system can also have an impact on its reputation and competitiveness on the global stage. Several research studies have examined the healthcare system in Romania from a comprehensive perspective. Recently, the topics most studied include healthcare workers and the impact of the pandemic on the healthcare system. This study aims to analyze the level of resources and the quality of the health system in the 42 counties of Romania. Data was collected from national statistics and several indicators were examined in relation to the resources and quality of the healthcare system. The primary indicators for healthcare resources that we used focused on the average number of doctors and hospitals, among others. While, for quality, we evaluated metrics such as the average of natality, mortality, and others. To analyze the data collected on health resources, we used a two-step cluster grouping method in SPSS, and to assess quality indicators, we performed a one-way ANOVA analysis to determine whether there were significant differences in health care quality between areas with fewer resources and areas with more resources. The findings of our research divided the country into four clusters based on the availability of medical resources per one thousand inhabitants, where medical resources are limited and where resources are high. Furthermore, we discovered that there is a statistically significant difference between medical resources and the mortality rate.
Since the 1960s, career success has been extensively studied from different angles. This paper aims to identify the main topics of interest covered by the literature throughout time frames defined based on the number of article citations. A Scopus database search was performed in November 2021, gathering 926 articles on career success that were analyzed in VOSviewer. The results show that several concepts were constant over the years, such as mentoring, mobility, income, education, gender, and culture, while other topics of interest were introduced more recently (e.g., career satisfaction, change, personality, networking, the link between the private and professional life, the relationship between objective and subjective career success). An understanding of historical career success research topics contributes to the development of future human resources strategies and policies.
The Balanced Scorecard is a strategic analytical model that helps organizations align their strategy with their performance measures and objectives and provides a comprehensive view of an organization's performance by looking at four key perspectives: financial, customer, internal process, and learning and growth. This paper focuses on a bibliometric analysis that was performed using the VOSviewer program and the Biblioshiny program. Thus, three sets of documents from the Web of Science database in the fields of Management and Economy were considered, over three time periods and, respectively: 2000-2010, 2010- 2020, and 2000-September 2022. Moreover, the research focused on the evolution over time of the "balanced scorecard" concept, the analysis of keywords, and the number of citations of the selected documents. The conclusions indicate that there is great interest in the research of this concept, but also for other concepts related to the concept of the ‘balanced scorecard’, the evolution being considerable from one period to another, up to the year 2019. This research also presents an original point of view, regarding the concept of the ‘balanced scorecard’, considering the limited existence of bibliometric works on this subject. Moreover, this study can contribute to the development of the existing literature from this field.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
